I don't know how many of you that read these are fans of snakes or other reptiles. We've been collecting snakes since December of last year and we've got a nice little collection going. This post isn't about that, though. I'd like to share an experience with you all concerning the above named website.

About a month ago, three of us were banned from the site and there was not a valid reason given. Basically one of the moderators made up a ton of stuff and banned us. One of the users still spoke with Ron Crawford, owner of RC Reptiles. I'm going to share with you all what was said and why I do not recommend anyone do business with this man. Keep in mind this is just MY opinion based on my dealings with him.

Well well… here’s an interesting tidbit I think the users on the web would like to know of what Ron Crawford, owner of RC Reptiles, thinks of competition or people in general.

RonCrawford2005 (8:30:09 PM): You can’t hurt our forum so that’s not the issue. The issue is that you had a mod position here only to coerce or suggest that members check out a site that pretty much plagerized our site by a bunch of losers (and you can quote me on that) with no creativity of their own.
RonCrawford2005 (8:32:21 PM): I have lawyers for those that “step over the line” and try to verbally abuse my business so don’t worry at all about people trying to “hurt my site, my business or my credibility”.

I happened to mention that jarrod had a new site on your chat…..I wasnt spamming for him, i was congratulating him and the people on RC….He came to Rc as a newbie knowing very little, and on his time on RC he had learned enough to have his own forum…….thats something to be happy about ron, not pissed….most of the people on your forum are planning to do some sort of breeding/business, your breeding your future competition….If you have enough faith in your Rep. you wont feel threatend by that
RonCrawford2005 (8:38:21 PM): I have faith in my rep and biz and don’t worry about competition because competition is the nature of the beast. Snakes breed, I sell snakes so I sell products for competitors. Trust me, I realize this and the people I now compete with who sold me my animals at the beginning know this as well. It’s when a person “steps beyond the line” and tries to capitilize off my base and marketing DOLLARS is where the problem lies.

RonCrawford2005 (8:42:46 PM): They setup a site similar to this one, employed you as a MOD there and coerced you to “talk about their site” here in order to build up their membership. Not cool. But it doesn’t matter because they mean nothing to me and are not worth the time and effort to type about or think about. A mere pebble on a beach washed away with the next tide…
RonCrawford2005 (8:44:11 PM): I’d rather not discuss them anymore because I’d be wasting precious brain resources doing that. I’d rather remove individual rat droppings from each cage by hand before I’d consider discussing them further.

RonCrawford2005 (8:48:59 PM): We “adjusted” our mods so we’re back to “post what you’d like as long as it’s not vulgar” selves. ;-)

I’m guessing the reason why i helped him with the site is because it was the easiest way to let everyone know i didnt approve of what was happening over at RC, as you know if i had posted my feelings back then they would of been deleted…..i gues all in all it was just a message letting all of you know

"Someone called me today and told me there was a thread on here that I had to read. I feel like I needed to make a reply to this thread because I know both parties involved.

Deb is not known for her honesty. She is quite well known for doing what it takes (dare I even say lie to Ron) to get people she doesn't like or doesn't agree with banned. She says users are abusive towards her or that they use foul language and she's the one that's known for being abusive. When you call users evil because they won't log out of chat just because you don't want to "baby sit" I take offense to that. That's not being a good moderator. A good moderator does not take sides in petty problems. He (or she) moderates and helps all parties come to the best possible agreement.

Deb has also lied when she stated two former members asked her to mod their board. LongviewSnakeLdy point blank asked her why she kept going to the board that her husband created and she moderates on without signing up for an account. LongviewSnakeLdy also told her that Deb was NOT wanted to mod on the other board. The other board has 3 very good moderators and they don't want the drama or issues Deb brings to the table.

Jim, I've seen your posts and never have I seen you be a jerk or degrading to any users, nor have I ever seen you make any racial comments directed at anyone, black, white, green or orange. You have exercised remarkable restraint and much better people skills than I posess to continue to post as politely as you have. Best of luck."
